History

Marius Roothman Boerdery was established and developed over the last decade on the farms Waterval and Hoogenboomen, just south of the Pilanesberg Mountains in the typical Savannah habitat with a subtropical climate. This 1200 ha farm is in heartwater area with mainly sweet grazing.

Thorough investigation and research to calculate and adapt our business plan for the future ensure a good return on investment. Our herds boast some of the best animals in the industry. The Roothman family is proud of our record-price achievements at auctions over the past years, especially in plains species such as springbok and tsessebes. We are extremely excited about the future of the game industry, both breeding and hunting activities.

Initiating the expansion of the business to include bontebok, springbuck and eland in the Southern Cape Province, are in process.

Philosophy

Driven by passion for exotic game, I ignited my dream 12 years ago by investing into quality genetics.

Farming in the heartwater area poses its own unique challenges but the past six years have proven that superior bloodlines and genetics coupled with nutritional health, are the winning recipe for continued exceptional results. The farms Waterval and Hoogenbomen, south of the Pilanesberg Mountains where I ply my trade, consist of mainly sweet grazing savannah habitat and here the focus remains on quality rather than quantity. The business is managed as a family concern and anyone subscribing to our “work hard, play hard”-policy, is welcome to visit us here.
